Are You Losing The Calling of God?

We see so many churches today, teaching things contrary to scripture. It is important that we read the scriptures so that we can determine truth from lies; we will only know the difference if we open our Bibles and read them for ourselves.

Why is it that so many churches have left the calling of God? Is it actually possible that these false churches and teachings are in the majority of Christianity? Well let me tell you what scripture says.

Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen. – Romans 1:24-25

God is cleaning house. He is shaking His church and only the born again believer will be delivered. God is going to allow entire congregations leave His glory because they traded the truth for a lie. God is actually giving people up to the desires of their hearts because they do not want Him even though they call upon His name. This is something we seriously ought to take to heart. Am I one who God has given up?

And then we see movements of men like Joel Osteen and Rick Warren. They are said to be movements of God, but speak only half truths and contort scripture to meet the needs of a “seeker friendly” audience. To preach a gospel slightly different than the one that Jesus Christ and His apostles preached is to preach an entirely different gospel altogether.

This is the result of a progressive turning away of biblical truths. It did not begin with Osteen or Warren. Many well known Evangelical men of God spoke of these happenings over 75 years ago. I believe the roots of this all begun over 100 years ago and has had its birth at the very creation of the church.

For the gate is NARROW and the way is hard that leads to LIFE, and those who find it are FEW. “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. – Matthew 7:14-15

Those who enter through the narrow gate and fine the way to life are few. Those who find it are the born again believers who see God in His sovereignty and in His lordship. They see the glory of God Almighty and have forsaken all for Him. Are we these people? Have we forsaken all? Have we been nailed to a cross which is the total submission to God above?

We even see the address given by Christ to the seven churches of Asia in Revelation. Only two of them were in the faith. The other five were told to repent or they would be removed. This is Jesus Christ we are dealing with. He is the King of king, and the Lord of lords yet he always seems to come last. We cry to Him when we have fallen or need help yet we neglect Him throughout the rest of the week. Oh God, save us, save your people; deliver the true believer.

Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent. – Revelation 2:5

We are all going to have to give an account before God one day. Don’t we care? Aren’t we even concerned? Jesus Christ is returning to earth, it will be great and it will be terrible. Be ready to face God. His wrath will be righteous and it will be ruthless.

I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak, for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.” – Matthew 12:36-37
